Turkey values friendly relations with Turkmenistan

Turkish President Abdullah Gul has invited Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov to visit Turkey, the Turkmen government said on Monday.
It was said during a telephone conversation between the two heads of states.

The Turkish leader said "Turkey awaits Turkmen leader with great impatience. In this context, it was underlined that the Turkish nation values friendly relations established with the fraternal people of Turkmenistan and is sincerely glad for its achievements in the way of creation and progress," the report says.

Berdimuhammadov, in turn, expressed confidence that the Turkmen-Turkish relations will continue to develop, based on age-old traditions of friendship, mutual understanding and trust.

The parties have agreed on "approach to the further alignment of the traditional cooperation, based both on the huge economic potential, and on a strong foundation of centuries-old historical, spiritual and cultural unity of the two peoples".

The Turkmen leader invited the Turkish partners who wish to establish close business contacts, to participate in promising investment projects, which are under implementation in the country.

Turkish companies implement more than 1,270 investment projects in Turkmenistan. They include more than 1200 projects worth more than $15 billion and 26 projects worth over two billion euros, 26 projects worth over 56 billion manat and other projects.

Ankara has expressed interest in the delivery of the Caspian energy to Europe through the Caspian Sea and Turkey. Ashgabat also wants to involve Turkish companies in the construction of the Caspian Sea resort Avaza.
