Investments: Turkish businesspeople in Egypt 

Turkish Ambassador in Cairo Huseyin Avni visited Egypt's Minister of Foreign Trade and Industry Hatem Saleh along with a group of Turkish businesspeople on Tuesday, as Anatolia news agency reports.

Speaking to the press following their meeting with Saleh in Cairo, Ambassador Avni said that there was a golden opportunity to connect Asia, Europe and Africa through commercial cooperation between Turkey and Egypt.

"Turkish tourism companies brought 500,000 tourists to Egypt in 2012. Cooperation between Turkey and Egypt should be boosted," Avni stressed. Minister Saleh, in his among, said that Turkish businesspeople wanted to invest in the fields of cement, infrastructure and construction in Egypt. "

The government of Egypt tries to lift amount obstacles so Turkish businesspeople can make investments in our country," Saleh indicated. There are around 200 Turkish companies operating in Egypt with investments worth 1.5 billion USD.

Turkish companies employ some 60,000 Egyptians. The trade volume between Turkey and Egypt is expected to reach five billion USD by the end of 2012.
