Turkey’s Akbank adds trio to advisory board

Turkey’s Akbank has appointed three new members to its International Advisory Board. Josef Ackermann, Gao Jian and Michael Klein have joined the inventory, bringing the size of the board up to 12 members.

The new additions broaden the world reach of the board. Ackerman is chairman of the board of directors of Zurich Insurance Group and Zurich Insurance Company; Gao Jian is vice governor of the China Development Bank; and Michael Klein is managing partner of M. Klein and Company.

Akbank is of the major companies in Turkey in terms of market capitalisation. The size of its consolidated assets amounts to $80bn. It has additional than 950 local branches across the country, inclunding subsidiaries in Germany (Akbank AG) and Dubai (Akbank Dubai Limited) and a branch in Malta.
