Economy: Turkey, cost of labour grows 10%
The cost of labour in Turkey grew 10.3% in the second trimester this year compared to the same period in 2011, said a note by the office in Istanbul of the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) based on data by the Turkish statistics bureau TUIK.
According to the new TUIK statement called;Index of labour cost; which has just been published, labour cost grew 10.8% in the industrial and service sectors while the increase registered in the construction business was 5. 7%.
The highest increase 21% - was recorded in the technical, scientific and training areas. The increase based on salary levels per hour in the second trimester totalled 10.7%. The increase on hourly salary was 10.7% in the industrial sector, 12.2% in services, 5.6% in construction and up to 22.3% in technical, scientific and training jobs.
