Kazakshstan Transportation Profile 2012
Kazakhstan has a poor road network .The railway linking the cities of urban areas of Russia, China and other neighboring countries. More than two thirds of the country's roads are paved. Buses and trains are the main modes of transportation. The main rail hub and site of the main airport in Kazakhstan is Almaty. Kazakhstan has two ports on the Caspian Sea, Aqtau and Atyrau. Cities within Kazakhstan are linked by the airlines, and there are many airports that handle international flights.
