Bangladesh: Bangladesh has sought Brunei 's investment

Bangladesh has sought Brunei 's investment in various potential sectors like oil, gas, textiles, leather, fisheries, power generation, jute manufacturing and agro-based industries.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on July 18 made the request at the same time as outgoing Ambassador of Brunei to Bangladesh Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Mohd Hussaini called on her at her office.

Next the conference, PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad briefed reporters.

Sheikh Hasina mentioned that both Bangladesh and Brunei share a common perception and outlook in a lot of regional and international issues.

She expressed satisfaction over the close cooperation between the two nations in the UN, NAM , Commonwealth, OIC, Asian Cooperation Dialogue and ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF).

The Prime Minister said Bangladesh and Brunei are actively cooperating in the areas of education under the framework of Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization of OIC.

She thanked Brunei for hosting Bangladeshi workforce who have been immensely contributing to the development of Brunei 's economy and infrastructure.

Sheikh Hasina reiterated her invitation to the Sultan of Brunei to visit Bangladesh at a convenient time in next.

Ambassador-At-Large M Ziauddin, Principal Secretary Shaikh Md Wahid-Uz- Zaman, PMO Secretary Molla Waheeduzzaman and Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad were present.
