  • Indian Prime Minister Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu

    INDIA, 2017/06/09 The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today addressed the Plenary Session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The theme of the Plenary was - "Achieving a New Balance on the World Stage." India is a "guest country" at the SPIEF this year, and Prime Minister Modi is the "Guest of Honour." In his remarks, the Prime Minister thanked President Putin for the opportunity to be present at SPIEF, in the beautiful city of St. Petersburg. Touching upon India-Russia relations, the Prime Minister said they are moving forward with good momentum. He said there are very few relations between, where the basis of the relationship is mutual trust. He said the India-Russia relationship of the last 70 years, has been based on trust, and deepened, even in a changing world.

    INDIA, 2015/10/31   African Heads of National and Government gathered at the Third Africa-India Forum Summit (AIFS-III) on 29 October 2015 witnessed a blend of the rich cultural diversity of Africa and India during the opening ceremony that took place at the Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex in New Delhi, where dance groups from both sides in their colourful traditional regalia, showcased the beauty of a fruitful partnership between Africa and India. Jointly organized by the African Union (AU) and the Government of India, the Summit was co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Robert Mugabe, Chairperson of the AU, who is as well the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, and H.E. Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, in the presence of H.E Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), who presented a key note address at the inaugural ceremony of the Third Africa-India Summit. The AUC Deputy Chairperson, Mr. Erastus Mwencha, alongside some AU Commissioners and High Officials, as well attended the event.

The theme for the 2015 session was “Partners in Evolution: Towards a dynamic and Transformative Development Schedule.” In the statement delivered by Ambassador Faure on behalf of Minister Morgan during the Ministerial Session on 28th October 2015, Ambassador Faure focused his interventions on issues of great importance to Seychelles as an African country and India such as trade, climate change, security and Blue Economy. In relations to the strong ties between India and Africa, Ambassador Faure highlighted the devotion of both parties to contribute additional strenuously to increase and prosperity through enhanced collaborative efforts across a lot of fields.
