    CHINA, 2017/04/07 A China-Kazakhstan free trade zone received about one million visits in the initial quarter of 2017, according to local border inspection authorities. The Horgos International Border Cooperation Center on the China-Kazakhstan border, in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has seen an increasing number of tourists since 2012. It attracted a total of 5.43 million tourists in 2016.
  • China, Kyrgyzstan to boost trade, economic cooperation

    CHINA, 2017/04/07 Representatives of Chinese companies doing business in Kyrgyzstan met here on Thursday with the country's Initial Deputy Prime Minister and co-chairman of the Kyrgyz-Chinese intergovernmental commission Muhammetkaly Abulgaziev. The conference was as well attended by Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Xiao Qinghua, the Kyrgyz Government's press service reported. Xiao said China highly values good-neighborly relations with Kyrgyzstan and is committed to strengthening relations in all areas of cooperation. "We are ready to develop bilateral cooperation in all areas of the economy, particularly in the fields of agriculture, transport and infrastructure."
  • Central Asian countries, EU to mull issues of co-op

    AFGHANISTAN, 2016/10/06 Uzbekistan’s delegation led by the country’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov will participate in the interregional ministerial conference “Central Asia-European Union” and in the international conference on Afghanistan, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry’s press service said on October 4. The conference will be held on October 4-5 in Belgium’s capital. During the visit, the Uzbek delegation is going to hold negotiations with officials of the European Union (EU). The strategy of cooperation in the “Central Asia-European Union” format was approved in 2007.

    AZERBAIJAN, 2014/09/16 Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan will take additional measures to enhance the product nomenclature and increase bilateral trade between the two nations. This was noted at a protocol signed on the results of the second conference of the intergovernmental commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation held in Baku. The total volume of foreign trade between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan amounted to $14.5 million in 2013. Thus, commodities worth $12.7 million were exported to Kyrgyzstan, and import operations worth $1.8 million were carried out. In January-July 2014, the trade turnover between the two nations amounted to $19.5 million. In this case, goods worth $1.06 million were imported from Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan, with the export volumes of $18.48 million in Kyrgyzstan.
