  • Tajikistan and Pakistan signed eight agreements on cooperation

    PAKISTAN, 2015/11/18 Tajikistan and Pakistan signed eight agreements on cooperation in the fields of power, commerce and defense to enhance bilateral relation through strengthening economic and parliamentary ties between the two nations. The agreements were signed during a conference of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon with Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on November 11-12. Both sides stressed importance of strengthening ties between the nations at the governmental level for the mutual benefits of the two nations.
  • Tajikistan's trade turnover decreases

    TAJIKISTAN , 2015/08/01 The current unstable political and economic situation created by Western sanctions against Russia is in turn affecting the volume of Tajikistan's external turnover, which has decreased by 22 % for the initial half of 2015. In comparison with the corresponding period for the previous year, the volume of Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover decreased by $563.4 million, totaling just over $2 billion in the initial half of current year, reported Abdufatoh Goibov, chief of the Tajikistan Customs Service. As a result of the Western sanctions against Russia, with which the country has strong ties, Tajikistan's external trade turnover and, generally, the country's economy are undergoing a range of negative consequences.
  • Tajikistan, China mull cooperation

    CHINA, 2015/07/30 China-Tajikistan business cooperation will enter a new stage, Chairman of Tajikistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Sharif Said said at a conference with an economic delegation from China’s Shanxi Province, according to the TajikTA Agency. Said mentioned that trade turnover will increase to $3 billion as a result of strengthening China-Tajikistan economic ties. The sides discussed further prospects for cooperation in trade, investment , banking, and finance.
