There’s a vast all of land between the east and west coast of Canada. A transportation system was needed to link the authentic north from coast to coast. So in 1881, the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) was established to complete the task. In 1886, the last railway spike was added, and presto, the country was presently on the move. As people began traveling for either pleasure or work, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, it became clear they needed a place to eat and remain . The solution, was to build hotels near the train stations, making it convenient for travelers to have hot meals and overnight accommodations. It was a clever way for CPR to fasten further profits from customers they by presently had.

  • Los Cabos is ready to welcome back tourists following the Category 3 Hurricane

    MEXICO, 2014/10/09 In just two weeks Los Cabos is ready to welcome back tourists following the Category 3 Hurricane Odile that struck on September 14. The hurricane, which tore across the Baja Peninsula, left thousands without power, electricity or potable water. The Mexican government, however, sprung into action and the destination is reporting that it is well on its way to being back and better than ever. According to the Mexico Tourism Board, approximately 5,000 hotel rooms in Los Cabos are expected to open by October 15, with an additional 7,000 rooms to open by November 15 and a final 10,000 rooms to become available by December 15. In addition, electricity, phone, Internet and potable water have been fully restored to the tourist destination of Cabo San Lucas.

The average price of a hotel room in Canada rose 3 % during 2013, according to the new Hotels.com Hotel Price Index. With the Canadian dollar declining throughout the last half of 2013 to a three-year low, a lot of travelers took the opportunity to explore Canada. "The HPI has tracked four years of solid evolution since hotel prices declined in 2008," said Neha Parikh, vice president and general manager, Hotels.com North America. "This steady increase is a good sign for the Canadian travel industry and the 2013 prices paid are a useful guide for inspiration to visit familiar domestic cities and venture out and discover a wide range of destinations beyond Canada's border."

    UNITED STATES, 2014/03/06 Your Actions Count – Be a Responsible Traveler” is a world program aimed at raising awareness about the majority common illicit goods and services that tourists may be exposed to while traveling. The campaign provides guidance to recognize possible situations of trafficking in persons, wildlife, cultural artefacts, illicit drugs, and counterfeit goods, and invites travelers to take action through responsible consumer choices. To promote this world campaign, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) have multiplied their efforts by joining forces. The campaign urges travelers to support the fight against a number of forms of trafficking, and the campaign was presented to the tourism sector at the International Tourism Bourse (ITB) in Berlin (March 5, 2014).

    UNITED STATES, 2013/12/20 The US Department of Commerce (DOC) projects international travel to the United States will continue experiencing strong increase through 2018, based on the National Travel and Tourism Office's 2013 Fall Travel Estimate. Visitor volume in 2013 is expected to increase 3.4 % and reach 69.0 million visitors who remain one or additional nights in the United States. This increase would build on the 6.4 % increase in arrivals in 2012, which resulted in a record 66.7 million visitors. According to the current estimate, the United States would see 3.4 % to 4.3 % annual increase rates in visitor volume over the 2013-2018 timeframe. By 2018 this increase would produce 83.9 million visitors, a 26 % increase, and additional than 17 million additional visitors compared to 2012. The new estimate reduces the compound annual increase rate over the estimate period from 4.0% to 3.9%. This downgrade reflects 2013 performances from several key markets that are below spring 2013 estimate expectations.

Highlights of the trip included the Minister's announcement of the Proboscis Monkey as the official mascot of VMY2014. The animal, which is found only in the jungles of Borneo, is a strong and incomparable symbol of the Malaysian government's recognition and commitment to nature, and part of their wildlife conservatory initiatives in 2014.
