Lithuania: Lithuania Inflation Accelerates Slightly In March

Lithuania's consumer price inflation accelerated for the sixth successive month in March, though marginally, figures from the Department of Statistics showed Monday.

The consumer price index rose 3.1 % year-over-year in March, just above the 3.0 % climb in February. The measure has been rising since January 2016.

Transport costs grew 6.6 % annually in March and prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages went up by 2.9 %. Meanwhile, clothing and footwear prices registered a decline of 1.1 %.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 1.1 % from February, at the same time as it edged up by 0.3 %.
