  • ACCA announces Belt & Road research at Shanghai conference

    CHINA, 2017/07/29 Following on from May’s Belt & Road Forum, ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) has today announced the launch of two new research papers into the impact of the Belt & Road initiative. The research project – which is being conducted with a range of partners inclunding Deloitte China, Shanghai National Accounting Institute (SNAI) and the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) – will examine how Belt & Road will affect the business infrastructure of China and a series of key economies along the proposed trade route. The research project is expected to last two years.
  • President Mugabe donates $1m to AU Foundation

    ETHIOPIA, 2017/07/29 President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe on Monday delivered a one million U.S. dollars check to the African Union (AU) Foundation, a “humble gesture” to help push the regional block toward financial independence. Mugabe made the donation during the opening of the 29th AU summit in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. He was fulfilling a pledge made during his tenure as rotating AU chairman, at the 25th AU summit in Johannesburg, South Africa.
