  • Nigeria: Diezani Forfeits N7.6 Billion to Govt

    NIGERIA, 2017/08/30 Former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison- Madueke, who has lost billions in cash and posh property to the Federal Government in recent court orders, yesterday forfeited an extra sum of N7.6 billion to the government. The string of court ordered forfeitures began early in the year at the same time as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) applied to the courts to reclaim the money and the property on behalf of the government. Yesterday, Justice Abdulazeez Anka of the Federal High Court, Lagos ordered the final forfeiture of the N7.6 billion to EFCC at the same time as no one turned up to claim the money next a certain period. The UK's National Crime Agency has frozen properties valued at £10 million allegedly bought for the former minister of petroleum resources Diezani Alison-Madueke. Two properties located at Regents Park, along with one in Buckinghamshire, have now been frozen based on the request of Nigerian authorities.

Speaking at the launch, TWA President and Founder Ms Irene Kiwia said that the one-onone mentorship and knowledge sharing would facilitate the (economic) increase of girls by enhancing their skills, empowering them to perform to their highest capabilities to realise their full potential.
