Congo to refurbish bridge with CFAF7.2b
CONGO BRAZZAVILLE, 2013/07/17 The Congolese government is to spend CFAF7.2 billion (US$14 million) this year to refurbish the Kouilou bridge, the longest in the country, according to a government official, Youssef Ben Salah. The bridge, which is 400-metres long, is located 45km from the Congolese commercial capital, Pointe-Noire, where the Kouilou River empties into the Atlantic Ocean The bridge facilitate the movements of people and goods between Pointe-Noire and the district of Madingou-Kayes, and enables small-scale forest exploiters and other economic operators to evacuate their products to the commercial city.
