An event dedicated to the development of the African aviation industry will take place next month in Tenerife (26-28 June) to encourage the launch of new air services to, from and within the African continent.
Routes Africa 2016 will help to improve African connectivity by bringing together airlines, airports and tourism authorities to discuss next air services. Around 250 route development professionals are expected to attend the forum which was founded ten years ago to stimulate increase in the industry.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) says the world air cargo market increase continued to flat line in May, broadly following the trend of the last 18 months.
World freight tonne kilometers increased just 0.8 % in May compared to a year ago, IATA said in an official release on Wednesday.
Capacity, however, increased by 2.1 % causing load factors to fall to 44.9 % — their lowest level since the post crisis recovery.
As about 60 % of world air cargo utilizes capacity in the belly of passenger aircraft, managing capacity at a time at the same time as increase in air travel is outpacing that of cargo is particularly challenging.
