  • Myanmar private airline "Mann Yadanarpon"

    MYANMAR, 2014/02/03 Myanmar private airline "Mann Yadanarpon" will launch its initial domestic maiden flight on Feb. 27 aimed at facilitating travelers in the country, according to airline sources Sunday. Mann Yadanarpon Airlines, the eighth domestic airlines, received its brand new 70-seated ATR 72-600 aircraft last Friday. The airline will wing its commercial flights to Yangon, Mandalay, Nyaung U, Heho, Kengtung, Tachileik and Myitkyina from its major base at Mandalay International Airport.

Commencing on 30 September 2013, the airline will be the initial scheduled foreign air carrier to service this route and the only Thai airline that serves all three major cities of Myanmar.

  • Myanmar Grounds MA60 Planes Over Safety Concerns

    MYANMAR, 2013/06/11 Myanmar has grounded its Chinese-made MA60 planes for safety checks following two landing incidents involving the aircraft in the completed month, a senior official said on Tuesday. An MA60 carrying about 60 passengers skidded off a runway at a domestic airport in southern Myanmar on Monday but nobody was injured. In mid-May an MA60 overshot the end of a runway at an airport in eastern Shan National, injuring two people.
