  • Rabat’s cable-stayed bridge to have big effect on Morocco

    MOROCCO, 2016/09/01 The 950-metre, cable-remained bridge inaugurated by King Mohammed VI in Rabat is going to have a major result economically and environmentally on Morocco, business owners and residents said. The Mohammed VI Bridge, which connects Rabat with Sale, is the longest cable-remained bridge in Africa. It has six traffic lanes, two 200-metre towers and 160 cables. It was constructed by the China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group at a cost of $32.45 million, funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Morocco’s Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM).

  • Routes Africa forum aims to improve African air connectivity

    BOTSWANA, 2016/05/15  An event dedicated to the development of the African aviation industry will take place next month in Tenerife (26-28 June) to encourage the launch of new air services to, from and within the African continent. Routes Africa 2016 will help to improve African connectivity by bringing together airlines, airports and tourism authorities to discuss next air services. Around 250 route development professionals are expected to attend the forum which was founded ten years ago to stimulate increase in the industry.
  • New airports project envisaged in Morocco

    MOROCCO, 2013/07/17 The minister who was answering a question at the Home of Representatives on "the national of national airports," said his department as well focuses on the development of two studies on domestic and external request for air transport.  A new airports project, part of the 2035 air transport strategy is being envisaged, said Minister of Equipment and Transport, Aziz Rebbah.  Mr. Rebbah recalled the program of the National Office of Airports (ONDA) which aims to increase airports hosting capacity and ensure  safety and quality, referring to a number of ongoing projects at the airports of Casablanca, Marrakech, Fez, Nador, Beni Mellal, Errachidia, and Zagoura. 
  • Tanger Med port, containers' traffic up 36%

    MOROCCO, 2013/07/15 Morocco's Tanger Med port has recorded a record 36% increase in the traffic of containers in the initial semester of 2013 compared to the same period last year, according to a statement by the port's authority published by the local Tap news agency. Tanger Medi is as well at the forefront of the Marhaba 2013 operation to welcome during the summer the millions of Moroccan migrants coming back home from abroad to visit their families for the holidays.

    MOROCCO, 2013/06/01 Morocco’s airline RAM won the Prize of the best company on the roads of North Africa, awarded by the magazine of travel agencies in Spain “Agenttravel”, said the representative of the Moroccan company in Madrid. The RAM, which wins this award for the second consecutive year, outdistanced in this category the Spanish airline “Iberia” and the Egyptian “Egypt Air”.

King Mohammed VI has given the green light to the financing, construction and management of the integrated, industrial, commercial and energy-oriented Nador West Med port complex.   • Royal Air Maroc to a major Gulf Arab airline.

    CASA , 2013/01/03 Morocco, looking to boost tourism and without the financial clout to buy aircraft that can bring holidaymakers from around the world, may sell a stake in Royal Air Maroc to a major Gulf Arab airline. A government source said a proposition for a partnership with flag carrier RAM will be made during a tour by King Mohammed to Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates that starts on Tuesday.
