    SERBIA, 2013/07/01 Serbian analysts say that Tomislav Nikolic's achievements in the initial year of his presidency include successful anti-corruption measures, resolving the Kosovo issue, building foreign relations, drawing foreign investments, reducing cabinet costs, working within the Constitutional Act and keeping pre-election promises. "If Nikolic was not elected, this government would not have been formed, the previous one would have been in power and we'd not have anti-corruption efforts," Vuk Fatic, deputy chief of the president's media department, told us. Vladimir Krulj, professor at Belgrade's Singidunum University and an advisor at Brussels' Kreab and Gavin Anderson communication consultancy, agreed.
  • Kosovo ratifies agreement with Serbia

    KOSOVO, 2013/06/30 The Kosovo parliament's ratification of the agreement on normalisation of relations with Serbia sparked protests by the opposition Vetevendosje Movement. The agreement, which was ratified on Thursday (June 27th), "regulates the essential aspects for the normalisation of relations between the national of Kosovo and Serbia," Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said. He added that it opens "the way for the stability in the north of the country by transforming the current security situation, inclunding political and economic conditions."
