  • The Uzbekistan-Korea Tungsten joint venture will start the construction

    SOUTH KOREA, 2015/10/26 The Uzbekistan-Korea Tungsten joint venture will start the construction of a tungsten mining and processing complex on the basis of the Sautbay field (Navoi region, the central part of Uzbekistan) in the second half 2016, one of the representatives of the Korean Shindong Resources Co., which is co-founder of the joint venture, said. He made the remarks during the international conference“Investment potential of hard minerals of Uzbekistan” held in Tashkent. The total preliminary cost of the tungsten mining and processing complex construction project is about $150 million. In August 2011, the Korean Shindong Resources Co Ltd and Uzbek National Geology Committee signed an agreement on establishing a joint venture called Uzbekistan-Korea Tungsten to develop the Sautbay tungsten deposit. The joint venture, in which the share of the Uzbek National Geology Committee is 49 %, and the share of Korean companies is 51 %, was established in 2013.
  • Uzbekistan decreases coal production

    UZBEKISTAN, 2015/08/26 Uzbekistan decreased coal production by 11.4 % to 1.789 million metric tons in January-June 2015 compared to the same period of 2014, Uzbekugol JSC, the major producer of solid fuel in the country, reported on August 20. Uzbekugol JSC produced about 1.674 million metric tons of coal (10.3 % decrease), Shargunkumir JSC – 63,300 metric tons (58.3 % increase) and Apartak Ltd. – 51,800 metric tons (54.2 % decrease), according to the company. The total volume of overburden operations decreased by 6.5 % to 9.1 million cubic meters.

    CHINA, 2014/12/27 Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) will launch a new project in 2015 to develop three gas-condensate fields discovered recently in Uzbekistan, a representative of the Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company told Trend Agency on December 25. Around $277.32 million are planned to be invested in the project to develop Dengizkul, Khojadavlat and East Alat fields until 2020 and $50 million in 2015. One billion cubic meters of gas is expected to be produced in the fields per year next the project completion.
  • Lukoil produces 25 bln cubic meters of gas in Uzbekistan

    UZBEKISTAN, 2014/11/19 Today, the volume of cumulative natural gas produced at the fields operated by Lukoil Uzbekistan stands at 25 billion cubic meters, the corporate newspaper of the company Lukoil Overseas said. Lukoil Uzbekistan is the operating company of Russian Lukoil company in the country. Currently, Lukoil is carrying out production in Uzbekistan at two arrangement areas – at the Hauzak-Shady field in Bukhara region and at the Hissar group of fields in Kashkadarya region. The ‘Kandym early gas’ project envisaging the development of Kuvachi-Alat and North Shady fields is being actively implemented.
