  • Bosnian Firms Claim Slovenian Supermarket Chain 'Robbed' Them

    SERBIA, 2014/11/19 Around a hundred Bosnian companies, which claim they were financially damaged by the withdrawal of the supermarket chain, Tus, launched a joint fight for compensation on Monday. Next the Slovenian company recently announced it was withdrawing from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a lot of domestic companies complained that Tus had left them in the lurch and owed them millions of euro in unpaid supplies. Tus's debts to producers and suppliers in Bosnia and Herzegovina are believed to be worth around 10 million euro, in various amounts to different companies.
  • Retail sales in Greece decreased further in October,

    GREECE, 2014/01/01 Retail sales in Greece decreased further in October, but at a slower rate than in the previous month, initial estimates published by the Hellenic Statistical Authority showed Tuesday. Retail sales volume, excluding automotive fuel, decreased 2.3 % in October from the corresponding month of 2012, continuing the downward trend seen in recent months. In September, sales had recorded a 5.6 % fall. Sales of food products decreased 3.2 % annually, and non-food sales fell 0.9 %. Meanwhile, trade in automotive fuel increased by 7.2 %.
  • Retail sales in Italy during August remained unchanged

    ITALY, 2013/10/28 Retail sales in Italy during August remained unchanged from the previous month as spending on food held steady, while non-food consumption shrunk, data released by the statistical office ISTAT showed on Friday. The seasonally adjusted retail trade index remained unchanged from July, at the same time as sales declined a revised 0.2 %. This was in line with economists' expectations and came next a 0.2 % decreases in the previous two months. Sales of food were stable in August, following a 0.1 % gain in the previous month. Non-food sales declined for the fourth straight month, down 0.1 %.

    SERBIA, 2013/09/04 Hundreds of eager shoppers queued in front of Belgrade’s Delta City mall from early morning on Thursday to witness the opening of the initial H&M store in the Serbian capital. A lot of came as early as 5am in order to be part the initial to enter the store, and crowds continued to gather in front of the store throughout the day. One attraction for early birds is that each of the initial 300 shoppers won a voucher for 1,500 dinars [13 euros] to spend in the shop, while each buyer enjoyed a discount of 20 % discount on one purchased item.
  • Cyprus Retail Sales Increase In April

    CYPRUS, 2013/07/13 Retail sales in Cyprus increased in April compared with the preceding month, a statement from the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus showed Friday. Retail sales volume increased 5.8 % month-on-month in April following a 0.8 % fall in March. In January-April, sales were down 11.5 % compared with the same period in 2012. 
  • German retail chain Müller

    CROATIA, 2013/07/01 German retail chain Müller are to heavily invest in Croatia. The Ulm headquarted giants have announced that they will open their major store in Croatia in the heart of downtown Zagreb on the major ban Jelacic square. “We are in the final phase of taking over the Varteks building on the square. It is a huge investment and we hope that the takeover will be complete within 2 months. Renovations could last from 6 to 9 months,” said Müller’s Sanel Skenderovic to Poslovni dnevnik. Müller as well plans to open a store in the popular Avenue Mall at the end of September.
