  • Winter Storm Threatens Last-minute Shopping

    UNITED STATES, 2013/12/21 A strong winter storm is likely to pose travel problems as millions of Americans try to get home for the holidays this weekend. Winter Storm Gemini is expected to hit wide portions of the Midwest and Northeast with snow and ice starting early Saturday morning, according to the Weather Channel. The storm has by presently caused disruptions in the Rockies, with parts of Utah digging out from almost a foot of fresh powder. Salt Lake City International Airport has resumed flights next temporarily shutting down.
  • Canadian retail sales

    CANADA, 2012/12/22 Canadian retail sales rose for a third month, edging up 0.10 percent in September. However, retail sales in volume terms were flat, with in 7 of 11 sub-sectors recording gains, representing almost 70 percent of total retail trade. According to the earlier report, retail sales rose 0.3 percent in August.
  • US Consumer Is Saving The Economy

    UNITED STATES, 2012/12/11 November monthly data reported this week came in surprisingly strong (or at least un-weak). 148,000 new jobs were created, and the unemployment rate fell to a new post-recession low of 7.7%. Auto sales as well made a new 4 year high. Construction spending was up, showing the continued resurrection from the dead of the housing sector. ISM services improved, but ISM manufacturing went back into slight contraction. Unit labor costs for the 3rd quarter decreased.
