  • Tunisia holds international exhibition on security equipment

    TUNISIA, 2016/04/04 With the constant insecurity caused by the incursions of jihadists, individuals, businesses and public services, are turning to electronic surveillance equipment. In order to bring closer manufacturers and consumers, the Tunisian center of Fairs, Exhibitions and Congress in collaboration with the Tunisian Security Trade, has organized the 2nd Edition of the International Security Exhibition Security Expo 2016. The two-day trade equitable Security Expo took place from March 28 to 31 and allowed exhibitors to display their new products ranging from the safety of persons to property protection.
  • Obama Chides African Leaders Who Cling to Power

    BOTSWANA, 2015/07/29 Barack Obama has chided African leaders who refuse to give up power in his initial speech at the African Union headquarters by a US president. The scolding came in the course of his address on Tuesday in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to the 54-member continental bloc. "Africa's democratic evolution is as well at risk at the same time as leaders refuse to step aside at the same time as their terms end," Obama said. "No one should be president for life."

    BAHRAIN, 2015/07/10 Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hong Lei announced at the press conference: Upon agreement of China and the League of Arab States, the 6th ministerial conference of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum will be held in Beijing on June 5. Foreign ministers or representatives from China and Arab states inclunding the Secretary-General of the Arab League will attend the conference.
  • Sephardic community summit in Madrid, Avila and Toledo 3rd biennal, after Bulgaria and Turkey

    ISRAEL, 2015/05/02 The over 70 participants of the Erensya World Summit of Sephardic communities in the diaspora arrived in Toledo on Thursday. The event was organized by the Sefarad-Israel Center, a cultural entity under the foreign ministry, and is an event that takes place each two years. The meetings in Avila, Madrid and Toledo between April 27 and May 2 aim to establish bridges between Spain and the Sephardic communities, sources from the organization. At this third edition, next ones held in 2011 in Sofia, Bulgaria, and in 2013 in Istanbul and Smyrna in Turkey, representatives from the Sephardic communities of Cairo, Jerusalem, Belgrade, Sofia, Sarajevo, Istanbul, Paris, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago del Chile, Panama and Mexico Federal District are taking part.

    TUNISIA, 2014/10/09 United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon is expected Friday in Tunis, Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General Stéphane Dujarric said, Wednesday. Mr. Ban will be in Tunisia "to express the support of the international community and the UN to Tunisia's transition process," Dujarric told the media. Ban Ki-moon is to meet with President Moncef Marzouki, Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa and Foreign Minister Mongi Hamdi.

    SPAIN, 2014/09/17 The Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mongi Hamdi, will attend an international conference on “stability and development in Libya and in North Africa”, scheduled for Wednesday in the Spanish capital, Madrid, according to a communiqué from the department. The communique, issued here Monday, said that the conference will be held within the framework of the interest of neighbouring nations and the region on the security and economic challenges facing Libya and their consequences on the stability and development of the nations of the region.

    TUNISIA, 2014/01/15 Tunis will be holding the Second Mediterranean International Conference, 'Europe and the Mediterranean into crisis: results and prospects', from February 12 to 14. The University of Tunis School of Law is the driving force behind the initiative, alongside the Centre of Macroeconomic and International Finance Studies (CEMAFI) in Nice, while its supporters include the European Commission.

    TUNISIA, 2013/07/13 Tunisia will host a roundtable that will specifically explore opportunities for financing Africa’s infrastructure (Africa50 Fund) through the African Development Bank (AfDB), organisers of the 19-20 July conference said in a statement; The African Union Commission (AUC), in collaboration with the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and AfDB, is putting together the two-day conference with the theme: “Financing Africa’s Transformation”.

The political will of Morocco was behind the success of the Diplomatic Conference for the facilitation of access to published works for the visually impaired, said Tunisian Minister of Culture, Mehdi Mabrouk.
