  • Morocco replaces Kenya to host CHAN 2018

    CASABLANCA, 2017/10/15 CAF’s Emergency Committee chaired by president Mr Ahmad Ahmad, met on Saturday in Lagos, Nigeria, and unanimously decided to grant the organization of the fifth edition of Africa second tier’s football competition to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. The cities of Casablanca, Agadir, Marakech and Tangier have been selected to host the biannual tournament.

The event will be attended by Lahcen Haddad, the Moroccan Minister of Tourism, inclunding ministers and ambassadors from nations in the Western Mediterranean region inclunding Mauritania, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Spain, France, Italy, Mali, and Portugal.
  • Commemoration of Africa Human Rights Day

    BOTSWANA, 2016/10/22 oday, the African People commemorate the Africa Human Rights Day across the continent under the theme “Women Rights – Our Collective Responsibility”. On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Aisha Laraba Abdullahi, Commissioner for Political Affairs issued a statement on behalf of H.E. Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Chairperson of the African Union Commission describing this year’s theme as timely and appropriate. Timely in the sense that it coincides with the Declaration of the African Union’s Heads of National and Government of “2016 as the African Year of Human Rights with Particular Focus on the Rights of Women”. It is, therefore, a clarion call on Africa to do additional to promote women’s rights, particularly the rights to development. It is in this context that the African Union Commission has concluded that the AHRD theme for this year is a reflection of a ray of hope that through empowerment of women in Africa, sustainable peace and development will be ushered in.

    MOROCCO, 2016/05/12 The Initial African Ministerial Forum on Housing and Urban Development opened in Rabat on Wednesday ahead of the 3rdUnited Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Improvment– Habitat III, slated from October 17 to 21 in Quito, Ecuador. Jointly initiated by the Ministry of Housing and UN-Habitat, the two-day forum is holding under the theme “Urban and Sustainable Development Policies with the participation of 300 people drawn from about 40 nations. At the opening of the forum, witnessed by the chief of government, Abdelilah Benkirane, Housing minister, Nabil Benabdallah delivered figures on the issue of habitat in Africa, noting that in 2030, 50 % of Africans will live in urban areas.

King Mohammed VI will as well meet with several senior Chinese officials and will as well launch a strategic partnership between his kingdom and China.

HM the King was as well greeted by the governor of the province of Aousserd, delegate commander of the parade ground of Dakhla, chairman of the provincial council of Oued Eddahab, chairman of the municipal council of Dakhla, chairman of the provincial council of Aousserd, representatives of the judiciary, chairman of the local council of Ulemas, representatives of civil and military authorities of the Wilaya and notables of the region.
