  • Minister Nkoana-Mashabane to host her Austrian counterpart

    AUSTRIA, 2016/10/22 International Relations and Cooperation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane will meet with her Austrian counterpart, Sebastian Kurz, the Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, on 24 October 2016 in Pretoria. Minister Kurz is visiting South Africa from 24-26 October 2016, heading a 50-person strong business delegation, which includes the President of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. South Africa ranks 6th amongst Austria’s overseas trading partners and is Austria’s major trading partner in Africa
  • Vienna to host new round of nuke talks

    AUSTRIA, 2015/05/19 Iran and the P5+1 group will continue talks on the process of drafting a final transaction in Vienna on May 20. The Iranian nuclear negotiating team, headed by deputy foreign minister Abbas Araghchi, will travel to Vienna tomorrow, Iran’s Fars news agency reported on May 19. Before, Araghchi and EU political director, Helga Schmid, who represents the P5+1, held four-day talks started on May 11 in Vienna. He said that the Lausanne statement was a summarized one and a half page statement of all that happened. However, the final transaction would be over 20 pages with over 50 pages of appendices.
  • Thinking Central and Eastern Europe Now” Conference in New York City

    AUSTRIA, 2014/06/02 The 2014 Austrian Investor and Business Conference will take place in New York City on June 17th, focusing on Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and with a appropriate look at the economic impact of the turmoil in Ukraine. The conference is hosted by 21st Austria and Chance Austria. Panel members will include representatives from the leading economic think tank in the region, the Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies, inclunding senior executives from leading Austrian companies, the Austrian Central Bank and the Vienna Stock Exchange. “Central and Eastern Europe faces the majority challenging time since the fall of the Iron Curtain 25 years ago. At the same time, a lot of experts are predicting CEE increase rates above the European average for this year. We will come to New York City to inform and discuss the issues and opportunities in the region,” said Claus J. Raidl, spokesperson for 21st Austria and president of the Austrian Central Bank.

    AUSTRIA, 2013/04/28 The two-day Balkan Infrastructure and Construction Summit aims to inform foreign investors of business opportunities in the region. The prime Balkans Infrastructure and Construction Summit will be held in Vienna on May 29 and 30. The organisers of the event, the International Research Networks, IRN, stated that the high-profile forum aims to support the expansion of foreign investment in the region by addressing the opportunities, strategies and challenges around upcoming infrastructure projects.
