The richest 1 % are likely to control additional than half of the globe’s total wealth by next year, the charity Oxfam reported in a study released on Monday. The warning about deepening world inequality comes just as the world’s business elite prepare to meet this week at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
The 80 wealthiest people in the world all own $1.9 trillion, the statement found, nearly the same all shared by the 3.5 billion people who occupy the bottom half of the world’s gain scale. (Last year, it took 85 billionaires to equal that figure.) And the richest 1 % of the people, who number in the millions, control nearly half of the world’s total wealth, a share that is as well increasing.

Macedonia and Albania will build a new border crossing at Trebiste-Dzepiste to improve mutual communication, trust and boost their economies in a move lauded by officials and citizens in both nations.
"The opening of the border crossing will make easier the movement of citizens from both sides of the border and will strengthen controls over people and vehicles that cross it," the Albanian government said in a statement.
The idea was pushed by Macedonia Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski during his conference with counterpart Sali Berisha in Tirana last November.

Macedonia ranks in 43rd place out of 177 nations listed in the index, placed part nations in the third tier of the inventory that are described as moderately free.
Most nations in the region share the same tier of moderately free economies. Albania is 58, followed by Romania, 59, Bulgaria, 60, Montenegro, 70, Slovenia, 76 and Croatia, 78.
