Tourist arrivals in the country have posted an 11.19 % increase in the initial 10 months of 2013 with additional than 3 million visitors.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) reported that 3,867,386 foreign nationals arrived in the country from January to October last year, which is higher than the 3,478,285 visitors for the same months from the previous year.
The number represents 70.32 % of the targeted 5.5 million arrivals for 2013.
The month of February has registered the highest increase of 15.52 % while the month of January recorded the biggest arrivals of 436,079.

The Philippines will have a tough time getting 10 million tourists each year by 2016 amid bad roads and unexpected setbacks, industry officials said Tuesday.
To reach the ambitious target, double the five million visitors expected this year, arrivals would have to grow by 26 % per year from 2014, former tourism secretary Narzalina Lim said at an annual Philippine business conference.
The country only managed a increase in arrivals of about 11 % yearly since 2010, and is presently about 16 % behind its full-year 2013 target, said Lim.

International visitor arrivals continued on a record streak this year, growing 11.8 % in the initial eight months to 3.18 million from 2.85 million in the same period last year, data released by the Department of Tourism showed.
Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. said the eight-month tourist arrivals marked an extra milestone as it is the initial time that foreign visitors completed the three-million figure in August.
He said the 3.18 million figure represents 57.83 % of the targeted 5.5 million arrivals for 2013.
Last year, the country received its three-millionth visitor in September while in 2011, it reached the three million arrivals in October.
