New member of the International Automobile Federation (FIA)
GABON, 2012/12/26 Federation (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, or FIA), held in Istanbul (Turkey) from 3 to 7 December 2012, resulted in the acceptance of Gabon's application for membership and the country becoming a full member of the FIA, known worldwide for its road safety prevention initiatives and for organising the world's major official motorsports events. This affiliation presents Gabon with an opportunity to improve road safety and, in the long-term, create opportunities to develop motorsports in the country. -
