“In the candidature of Gent Sejko, who comes from the ranks of the banking system, I valued the managerial experience, his education and moral integrity,” President Bujar Nishani said in a statement accompanying the decree on Monday.
An economist by training, Sejko has a nearly two-decade-long career in Albania’s banking sector, with various commercial banks. He currently heads Societe General in the country.

On 31 March 2013 the net price of the two investment funds reached 25.15 billion lek (€178.8 million), an increase of 57.13 % compared to the figure for 31 December 2012, the AMF said.
Although only two investment funds operate in Albania, they have seen exponential increase in the prime months of 2013, data from the Financial Supervisory Authority, AMF, say.
