  • Kazakhstan diversifies fish exports to Europe, CIS

    KAZAKHSTAN, 2015/09/18 Kazakhstan increased the volume of fish production in order to diversify its export supplies to the European and CIS nations. The Kazakh company on the fish production in the Atyrau region has recently signed agreements with their partners from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Georgia, and France to prevent the possible large losses. The current instable economic situation and as a result the ruble decline has significantly influenced on the export of fish from Kazakhstan. The company exported about 2,000 tons of dried or frozen carp, bream, roach, pike, catfish, and pike-perch fillet over the previous year, but presently this figure has double decreased.
  • FAO, EU to boost food security in Tajikistan

    TAJIKISTAN , 2015/07/21 The UN Food and Agriculture Organization and the European Union have launched a new partnership agreement to boost food and nutrition security, sustainable agriculture and resilience in 35 nations, inclunding Central Asian Tajikistan,UN News Center reported last week. The new programs were reportedly announced on July 15 at a conference between Neven Mimica, the EU Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, and Jose Graziano da Silva, the FAO Director-General, during the 3rd International Conference on Financing for Development, in Ethiopia.
  • EBRD , KICB support food producer in southern Kyrgyzstan

    KYRGYZSTAN, 2015/04/07 The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is continuing its support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Kyrgyz Republic through its partnerships with local banks. Food producer Shirin-Sulaiman is the new firm to benefit from the EBRD’s Medium-Sized Co-Financing Facility supporting medium-sized businesses. The Facility allows local partner banks to lend additional to such companies by sharing risk with the EBRD, an arrangement that makes loans additional attractive for borrowers.
