  • Bulgaria, Romania to Jointly Manage Danube Wetlands

    BULGARIA, 2013/04/28 The Ministries of Environment of Bulgaria and Romania have signed a transaction on protection of wetland areas along their border on the river Danube. Bulgarian and Romanian officials have signed a memorandum to expand and jointly manage protected wetland areas along their Danube border.   "The goal is for Bulgaria and Romania... to take coordinated action for the protection of bird colonies that are the same on both sides of the Danube," Ivan Hristov, Bulgaria's waters coordinator for the World Wildlife Fund, WWF, said.
