  • Disaster claims lives of seven in Tajikistan

    TAJIKISTAN , 2015/07/27 Natural disasters hitting various areas of Tajikistan on Tuesday night claimed the lives of seven people, according to the new reports. The government of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAR) in eastern Tajikistan reported on the aftermath of a series of recent mudflows and floods. The number of victims reached six people in the Vanch district, according to the GBAR government. Additional than 80 % of communities in the GBAR have been left without power, according to the United Nations Rapid Emergency Assessment and Coordination Team estimates.
  • Caspian states discusses ecology of Caspian Sea

    KAZAKHSTAN, 2013/03/23 A regional seminar entitled 'Caspian Sea - Sustainable Development and Management' has finished its work at the Turkmen resort city of Awaza in cooperation with the International Ocean Institute (IOI), Turkmen government said on Wednesday.  The forum organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and National Enterprise for the Caspian Sea under the President of Turkmenistan is being attended by heads and specialists of ministries, agencies and the environmental institutions of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, inclunding international experts.
