    RUSSIA, 2013/12/08 Employees of the Kazan branch of OOO "Tatneft - AZS Center" and NGDU "Almetyevneft" once again took part in the national environment protection action "Green Record." Trees planting activities in the frame of the "Green Record" event organized by the City of Kazan Mayor' Office and supported by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, were started a year ago. The Company's employees planted 50 large fir trees last year close to JSC TATNEFT's filling stations in Kazan. 60 tall fir trees have been planted at five JSC TATNEFT's filling stations in Kazan this year, as part of this environmental project.
  • Russian farmers worry about climate change, after a terrible winter

    RUSSIA, 2013/05/01 The completed month has brought record-breaking snowfall and cold snaps throughout central Russia. But the bad weather has done much additional than spoil people’s moods and clog roads -- it has raised new alarms about world climate change. Prime the data: March was one of the coldest in the completed 50 years in Russia, with snowfall breaking a 40-year record. There was a total of 70 centimeters of snow in Moscow last month, while the Ministry of Emergency Occurrences cites extreme weather situations in 13 of the country’s central regions. The bad weather extended south to Kiev in Ukraine as well, where unusual snowfall closed down the city.
  • Caspian states discusses ecology of Caspian Sea

    KAZAKHSTAN, 2013/03/23 A regional seminar entitled 'Caspian Sea - Sustainable Development and Management' has finished its work at the Turkmen resort city of Awaza in cooperation with the International Ocean Institute (IOI), Turkmen government said on Wednesday.  The forum organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and National Enterprise for the Caspian Sea under the President of Turkmenistan is being attended by heads and specialists of ministries, agencies and the environmental institutions of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia, inclunding international experts.
