Turkmenistan launches 1st communications satellite into orbit
TURKMENISTAN, 2015/05/19 The initial communications satellite of Turkmenistan “TurkmenAlem 52°E” has been successfully launched on the orbital position of 52 degrees east longitude at an altitude of 36,000 kilometers above the Earth, the government reported. The last test trials of RF channels of the satellite will be held until May 31, according to the plan. The contractor - the French company Thales Alenia Space will hand over “TurkmenAlem 52°E” to Turkmenistan for commissioning upon successful completion of all tests in the initial decade of June 2015. -
