The reason for better Uzbek-Kyrgyz trade relations is Uzbekistan’s new president, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, said Bruce Pannier, a Central Asia expert.
“His government’s foreign policy, particularly towards immediate neighbors in Central Asia, is a drastic departure from his predecessor Islam Karimov,” Pannier told Trend.

Uztrade JSC under Uzbek Foreign Trade Ministry established a Trading Home in Delhi in order to increase the volume of export deliveries and strengthen its position on the Indian market, according to the data published on the website of Uzbek Foreign Ministry.
Within the framework of Trade Home operation, a permanent exhibition-sale is being created in the form of a show room, where consumer and food products of Uzbek producers will be presented.

Uzbekistan’s delegation led by the country’s Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov will participate in the interregional ministerial conference “Central Asia-European Union” and in the international conference on Afghanistan, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry’s press service said on October 4.
The conference will be held on October 4-5 in Belgium’s capital.
During the visit, the Uzbek delegation is going to hold negotiations with officials of the European Union (EU).
The strategy of cooperation in the “Central Asia-European Union” format was approved in 2007.

Acting Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoev met with Kazakhstan’s Initial Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin Sept. 22, Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA) reported.
During the conference, the sides discussed the issues on practical implementation of agreements reached during Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s visit to Samarkand on September 12, 2016, in particular, on the further expansion of mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, according to the agency.

The new chief of the EU delegation in Uzbekistan Latvian diplomat Eduards Stiprais took office.
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini approved Stiprais chief of the EU delegation in Uzbekistan in late August 2016, reported the EU delegation in Tashkent.
Prior to his appointment to Uzbekistan, Stiprais served as deputy secretary of national -.political director of the Foreign Ministry of Latvia.

Uzbekistan and the U.K. intend to develop bilateral trade and economic relations in oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, energy, mining and food industries.
The cooperation prospects were discussed during the 22nd conference of Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council, the U.K. embassy in this country reported.
The UK delegation was led by the co-chair of Uzbek-British Trade and Industry Council, Dame Barbara Hay, while the Uzbek delegation was led by the country’s Initial Deputy Foreign Minister, Zhavlon Vakhabov.

This remark was made by Uzbek President Islam Karimov at a conference with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Ufa, Russia on July 10.
The Uzbek president said the mutual interests of the two nations, the trials that Uzbekistan underwent together with Russian people made them closer and created common next for the two nations, Russian media reported.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov will pay a three-day visit to the Republic of Korea next week, South Korean Yonhap news agency reported on May 22 citing the South Korean presidential press-service.
The development of cooperation in the area of security, infrastructure and other sectors will be considered at the conference of the two presidents - Islam Karimov and Park Geun-hye on May 28.

Uzbekistan has inked a package worth $2.8 billion in investment and loan agreements, and trade contracts with Germany, which is considered as Tashkent’s most significant partner in the European Union.
The agreements and contracts have been concluded during a visit of the Uzbek delegation to Germany, according to a message from Uzbekistan’s Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade Ministry.
The package of agreements and contracts covers the chemical, machine building, electro-technical, textile and food industries, inclunding the production of construction materials.
