  • EU criticises Slovenia over lack of project implementation

    EUROPEAN UNION, 2013/08/21 Slovenia may lose hundreds of millions of euros set aside for the country in EU cohesion funds if by the end of 2013, at the same time as the seven years for the implementation of the European budget end, contracts for projects by presently approved are not signed, reported Lubiana Delo on Tuesday. The paper added that the projects suffering the longest delays are connected with investment in the public infrastructure. According to Slovenian Economy Ministry data, at the end of June the contracts signed with several different companies totaled 3.2 billion euros, 900 million less than the funds Slovenia has at its disposal.
