    TUNISIA, 2015/10/10 The 18th session of the Algerian-Tunisian Monitoring Committee shows the will of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and his Tunisian counterpart, Beji Caid Essebsi, to raise bilateral relations to the highest level, Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League Abdelkader Messahel said Thursday in Tunis. The session comes as part of preparations for the high joint commission conference in Algiers on October 25-26, under the co-chairmanship of Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and the chief of Tunisian government, Habib Essid, Messahel said. The minister said he was pleased with the mobilization of joint resources to face security challenges relating to the escalation of terrorism, organized crime, arms dealing and illegal immigration.

Tanzania is likely to delay the signing and ratification of the EPA document on the grounds that it was rushed through.   • Tunisia’s Trade Deficit Rises To $4.59 Billion in Eight Months

    TUNISIA, 2015/07/01 Official figures showed that Tunisia’s trade deficit rose by 2.7 % to 7.6 billion Dinars (4.59 billion Dollars) in the initial eight months of the year compared to the corresponding period of last year. The National Statistics Institute said that the deficit rose to 7.6 billion Dinars in the period from the beginning of the year to the end of August compared to a deficit of 7.4 billion dinars (4.47 billion Dollars) in the same period last year Imports grew by 5.1 % to 26 billion Dinars, while exports rose by 5.8 % to 18.4 billion Dinars.

The event, organized by Media Press in cooperation with Tunisian business association Utica, is aimed at promoting Tunisia's image across Africa to develop new business opportunities across sectors inclunding healthcare, professional training, tourism and finance.     LIBYA, 2014/02/27 Citing security problems, the Libyan authorities on Tuesday closed the Ras Jadir border crossing between Libya and Tunisia, according to Chief security officer, Col. Mohamed Jarafa. 'The decision to close the border crossing was taken following an attack by an armed group which wanted to organize the escape to Tunisia of a wanted Libyan,' Col. Jarafa told the Libyan news agency.
