Brazil: Brazil plans to help Mozambique to promote the West African country’s tourism potential

Brazil plans to help Mozambique to promote the West African country’s tourism potential to foreign nations, inclunding to attract potential investors, the Brazilian Tourism Institute (Embratur) said.

At the end of a conference at Embratur’s headquarters, the tourism and cultural attaché to the Mozambican embassy, Romualdo Lodino do Carmo Johnam, said that Mozambique appreciated the help offered by Embratur to develop the tourism industry.

“Embratur may as well help us to contact entities and groups available to invest in Mozambican tourism,” said Lodino.

Under the terms agreed at the conference, technical staff from Embratur will give a talk to Embassy staff to explain how Brazil promotes its tourism destinations to international markets.

The president of Embratur, Vicente Neto, suggested contacting officials responsible for the National Programme for Access to Technical Education and Employment (Pronatec), set up by the Brazilian government in 2011.

“Pronatec is a professional qualification programme that serves thousands of people across Brazil. It trains young people for a number of job areas, inclunding the tourism sector, and it will assist in training Mozambican workers,” he said.
