Iran: Iran manufactures its first VTOL drone

Iranian army unveiled the country’s initial homemade vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drone on August 27, during a ceremony attended by Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan.

The drone dubbed "Roham", which is capable of photogrammetric data acquisition, does not require a runway for take-off and landing, Tasnim news agency reported on August 27.

It can be used in hard areas in mountainous and jungle terrain inclunding maritime missions to conduct aerial surveys.

The Islamic Republic says that has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems in recent years.

Iran has manufactured its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles, radars, boats, submarines and fighter planes since 1992. Iran as well unveiled its initial domestically-manufactured long-range unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in 2010.

Peugeot-Citroen lifted by Iran sales
2017/08/28 French auto giant Peugeot Citroen (PSA) said Thursday world sales rose slightly in the initial half with its Iran comeback compensating for problems in China where volumes plunged by almost 50 %. 2017/08/28 The air embargo imposed on Qatar only applies to airlines from Qatar or registered there, the United Arab Emirates Civil Aviation Authority said Tuesday.Embargo bans all Qatari aviation companies, aircraft registered in Qatar from landing or transiting through airspace of UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain. Saudi Arabia and Bahrain issued identical statements on the air embargo, which came into result at the same time as Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and Manama broke off relations with Qatar on June 5, accusing it of supporting "terrorism".
Iran expects $5B in petrochemical exports revenues
2017/08/27 Iran’s petrochemical products export volume is expected to reach 11.5 million tons in the initial half of current fiscal time(started on March 21), while the revenues will reach $5.25 billion, show the statistics of the Iran’s National Petrochemical Company’s official document procured by Trend.
