The mining providers play an extremely important role in the mining industry in Chile. The objective of the International Investment Program for Mining Suppliers is the promotion and attraction of foreign investors that, by the use of state-of-the-art technology, have an interest in settling in our country in order to manufacture, to make, to assemble and to provide services at a national and international level using Chile as an investment platform.

There are about 4000 mining supplying companies in Chile

Total Exports in 2009: US$ 676,777,638, where 11 companies out of 542 represent the 60% of the exports value, equivalent to US$ 403,235,002. (Source: Chilean Customs Service).

In 2009, the national market of goods and services related to the mining industry was of US$ 13,000 million (Source: Mining Council, 2010), being capable of reaching US$ 35,300 if the potential demands of Peru, Argentina and Brazil are considered (Source: CESCO, 2009).


The Chilean mining industry represented:

  • 18.8% of the GDP between 2005 and 2009
  • 61.2% of the country's total exports between 2005 and 2009
