Bangladesh: Digitized e-service becomes blessings for commoners

Speakers including ICT experts at a seminar on Sunday said the expanding digitized e-service facilities at the grassroots has already become blessings for the common people that substantially eased the civic life.
They were addressing the daylong seminar styled 'E-service activities, management of computer laboratories in educational institutions and launching digitised signature' in the conference room of the deputy commissioner of Panchagarh.

Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) organised the seminar with the assistances of the district government for amount upazila parishad chairmen, UNOs, government officials, headmasters and principals and computer teachers of different schools and colleges. Additional deputy commissioner (ADC, General) of Panchagarh Ahmed Kabir formally inaugurated the seminar in the morning. Additional District Magistrate Gullal Singh, ADC (Revenue) Shamsul Azam, deputy director of the Youth Development Department Shahinur Rahman spoke at the inaugural ceremony as the special guests.
Assistant programmer of BCC Hossain Bin Amin elaborately narrated the ongoing activities of BCC throughout the country in the process of building a digital Bangladesh.
Assistant programmer of BCC Hasan Uz Zaman discussed launching of digitised signature while executive magistrate and acting ICT officer of Panchagarh Bikash Biswas narrated spoke about computer laboratories in educational institutions and e- service activities in the district. The seminar was told that the district government has resolved and disposed of 435 letters, 104 e-files and 953 land- issue related 'porcha' received through the district web portal under its e-service activities till September 23 this month.
Besides, medium and long-term trainings were provided to 15 trainers, 87 entrepreneurs of Union Data Service Centres (UISCs), 32 office- assistants on web portal development, computer and other digitised devices during the period in the district. Expressing satisfaction over the digitization process, the speakers lauded the role of the district government in establishing good governance by ensuring transparency and accountability. They put special emphasis on making the digitised signature programme successful in Panchagarh and further enhancing efficiency and expertise of amount involved in the UISC activities at union levels.
