Kazakhstan will supply 1.4 billion kilowatt/hour of electricity to Kyrgyzstan next year.

This was announced at a conference held on November 7 between Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev with his Kyrgyz counterpart Almazbek Atambayev, who is on an official visit to Kazakhstan.

Atambayev said in the years of independence, Kazakhstan made a great breakthrough by entering the inventory of five rapidly developing courtiers, inclunding 50 major economies in the world.

Nazarbayev, for his part, said Kazakhstan is ready to provide the necessary support and assistance to Kyrgyzstan.

Later, the two Central Asian nations signed several bilateral documents, inclunding a joint statement, an Action Plan for Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, an agreement on economic cooperation in conditions of Eurasian integration, inclunding an agreement on cooperation in the energy field.

Kazakhstan is the third major trading partners of Kyrgyzstan in terms of trade turnover.

Over the completed two years the trade turnover between the two nations has consistently exceeded $1 billion. Despite the complicated situation in the regional and world economy, the trade turnover between them increased by 5.2 % in the initial eight months of 2014.

About 90 % of dairy products, 56 % of fruits and vegetables are exported from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan. Almost 100 % of Kyrgyzstan’s request in wheat, 97 % in flour, 70 % in mineral raw materials, inclunding 53 % inorganic chemicals is provided thanks to the supplies from Kazakhstan.
