Angola: Angolan minister of Culture Rosa Cruz e Silva

The Angolan minister of Culture Rosa Cruz e Silva Friday in Luena, eastern Moxico province, expressed her Ministry?s intention to build a Provincial Museum, with a view to preserving and disseminating the culture of the region.

The minister was speaking at the inauguration of the Culture Home, unveiled by the Vice President of the Republic, Manuel Domingos Vicente.

The official said the museum will increase the knowledge of the students and art lovers within and out of the province.

She added that the government's goal is to boost the Angolan agriculture based on the country's socio-economic development.

Rosa Cruz e Silva, who said she was impressed with the infrastructure, added that the project will be extended to other provinces.

At 6%, increase was well above the trend of recent years, making the current January-June period the strongest half-year since 2010. Visitor numbers reported by destinations around the world reflect strong request for international travel in the initial half of 2017, according to the new UNWTO World Tourism Barometer. Worldwide, international tourist arrivals (overnight visitors) increased by 6% compared to the same six-month period last year, well above the sustained and consistent trend of 4% or higher increase since 2010.
